Why we started B&S United Minds
I started B&S United Minds through my role as a care home manager, where I see first-hand the daily impact dementia has on individuals and their families. Witnessing the emotional, physical, and practical challenges they face inspired me to do more beyond my day-to-day role.
What drives my passion is the desire to make a real difference—whether that’s raising awareness, supporting families, or improving quality of life for those living with dementia. By supporting organisations like Dementia UK and helping local care homes, I want to ensure people feel supported, understood, and not alone in their journey.
Our unique approach to support
What’s particularly heartwarming about B&S United Minds is that everything we do comes from genuine, first-hand care and understanding. Having worked closely with people living with dementia, we focus on the small but meaningful things that truly improve daily life—especially opportunities to access the outdoors, which can bring comfort, calm, and joy.
We combine community fundraising with direct local impact, supporting care homes as well as organisations like Dementia UK. Knowing that we’re helping create moments of happiness and supporting both individuals and their families makes our work especially meaningful.

Locally, we want to expand the support we offer to care homes, particularly by creating more opportunities for people living with dementia to safely access outdoor spaces and enriching activities that improve wellbeing.
Ultimately, our goal is to build a stronger, more supportive community where individuals living with dementia and their families feel understood, supported, and valued.
